GAIT AND POSTURE ASSESSMENT
At our clinic we see a large number of children with parental concern are regarding gait and posture. As far as musculoskeletal development in children is concerned it is important to remember that the range of normality is wide. Our aim is always to exclude any pathological causes and ensure that the child’s gait and posture are within the normal range (a normal variant).
In recent years, we have seen an increasing number of children with relatively innocent body postures, which, however, cause pain and sometimes functional problems. In these cases, the children are referred to physiotherapy and given instructions for home.
