Anterior knee pain

Anterior Knee pain is a common problem in the growing child, particularly in adolescent girls. The most common causes are chondromalacia patella, rotational malalignment of the lower limb and patellar instability. This can be a debilitating condition for adolescents affecting their lifestyle significantly and can stop them from participating in sport activities. The child is assessed by our surgeon and once surgical causes for this condition are excluded they are referred for an intense physiotherapy program.

The physiotherapist will do an assessment and produce individual designed program with exercises and stretches for the patient.
